So it’s the 5th of the month and we all know what that means…the new Art of Organics Box drops! I just started reviewing this box but I really like it. Art of Organics promises to deliver the best organic, natural, non-toxic and cruelty-free beauty products straight to your door every month. Each box will come with 2-4 full size products (or occasionally one full size product + travel sizes). It costs $39 and promises a total value of $70+ (oh and free shipping too!). This month features Kahina Giving Beauty’s Moisture Mask ($88) and Luna Nectar’s Moon Boost Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum ($75). Read on for my December Art of Organics review!
My first thought here is: this would make an awesome gift! But not only that, you could totally split these up and get two gifts out of it! HELLO! But now I am showing my true colors, I mean it’s all about saving a buck during gift giving season – especially when you have a million peeps on your list. But anyways! This is my first time using Kahina’s Moisture Mask. It actually arrived at the perfect time. My skin was just starting to get that dry tight feeling that sets up shop in the winter months – you guys know what I’m talking about. The heat is pumping, the air is dry and it’s like no matter how much moisturizer I put on, I still feel like I need a 3pm reapply. So needless to say, I was so excited to give this a try.
Kahina Giving Beauty Moisture Mask
This mask is more like an intense moisturizer rather than a traditional mask. And what’s unique about it is you actually leave it on – like all day or all night. Let me explain. This mask is designed to deeply hydrate and plump skin. Among others, it’s made with anti-aging red wine grape extract, brightening prickly pear seed oil, soothing mushroom extract, calming Aspen bark extract and Blue tansy to help relax and calm. You apply a thick layer on your face and leave on for 15 minutes. It feels like a thick cream going on. I actually did this mask while I took a bath and it was fantastic. So after 15 mins (or an hour – I mean really there are no rules here) you wipe the excess off and leave the remaining cream on as your moisturizer. I actually like dragging the excess down to my décolletage and shoulders so I didn’t waste any!
After this I hit the sack and my skin felt so moist. No pulling or dry sensations which have been haunting me. (I probably have to drink more water…anyways!) I haven’t tried it as a day cream yet but I totally will! This would be a great tool for anyone who suffers from dry skin or seasonal dryness. Or anyone who just prefers like a heavy cream. I hate to even make this comparison but all you Ponds Cream loyalists – this one’s for you!
Okay so a little bit more about Kahina. Kahina Giving Beauty was started nearly 10 years ago on a fateful trip to Morocco where founder Katharine L’Heureux discovered argan oil and beauty rituals of Morocco’s indigenous Berber women. Soon after she created a beauty line rooted in these traditions. As a sign of respect, each Kahina Giving Beauty bottle bears the signatures of the Berber women who extract Kahina’s argan oil. Like, their argan oil is singly sourced directly from Morocco which = more control over product and an almost zero chance of adulteration.
Luna Nectar Moon Boost Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum
Moon Boost promises to trigger length and thickness in brows and lashes. It does this by calling on arginine, algae, biotin, burdock root, castor and red clover. I have no idea if this works but what I do know is I have a couple of holes in my brow line that I am dying to beef up! This has a three month shelf life after opening. Check out the ingredient list. I didn’t see the full list on their website so here it is:
Distilled Water, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Lactobacillus Ferment, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond ) Oil, Laminaria (Algae) Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo) Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Lactobacillus, Sucrose Laurate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Water, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, L-Arginine, Biotin, Trifolium Pratense (Red Colver) Extract, Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Root Extract
Art Of Organics
Art of Organics was created to connect people with the cleanest, most effective and luxe beauty products in existence. You can check out a list of ingredients that AO will never send out here. But what really gets me about AO is that they focus on the art aspect of skincare + beauty. They do this not only through the products they choose to share with members but also with their packaging which features a new design by a different artist every month.
This month is Khristian A. Howell – she has some cute cell phone covers too – check her out!
Boxes are sent out between the 1st-5th of the month and are usually curated with themes. So we will see selections centering around hair care, winter skin care, skin brightening, detox, etc. The one thing you wont see a lot of here is makeup. Also I love that members get 15% off all products at the Art of Organics online shop. It’s all about the perks ya’ll!
Art of Organics gifted me this box to sample – haaaaayyyy! But you know me, all opinions are my own, ALWAYS!
