Boxwalla: February Beauty Box Reveal

February 27, 2017

Boxwalla is back and they totally outdid themselves with this February box! Check it out. We are seeing some goodies by H Is For Love and and One Love Organics – a very cheeky theme for the month of February if I do say so myself!

If you are new to Boxwalla, let me fill you in. Boxwalla is a green beauty subscription that’s delivered every two months for 49.95. This is the second box I have had the pleasure of discovering and let me be the first to say, Boxwalla knocked it out of the park both on both occasions. The products they select are always cruelty-free, nontoxic and their deliveries are stuffed with “things that MUST be experienced.” They also have subscriptions for food, books and movies too – check out Boxwalla for more.

H is for Love Lip Glacé

Bara Balm, $70. Lip Glacé, $17.

This is my first time trying anything H is for Love and let me start with this; they are the real deal. Their ingredients are thoughtfully sourced and their whole line is almost entirely organic and wild-crafted. They use cold-pressed and unrefined oils. They only use natural preservation methods and their line is made entirely by hand. They pride themselves in sharing nature’s most wonderful gifts and I will be the first to attest to that!

H is for Love is an interesting name and I was dying to find out more about it and why. H stands for the History that these ingredients carry and is also for Honoring the timeless traditions associated with them. Gotta say, as much as I love the name I am loving their website design, logo and packaging even more. Everything is so… interesting – I wish I had better word but it just really is. Simple, cute, packaged in Miron pots. Pretty much love everything about this line and I didn’t even get to talk performance yet!

The Lip Glacé is incredible. I’ve had Kari Gran Lip Whip as one of my top picks for a while but I’m going to go out on a limb and say this: the Lip Glacé is giving Kari Gran a run for it’s money. Specifically with formula and flavor. First the formula is super clean and employs several CO2 extractions (which is one of the cleanest methods out there leaving behind no chemical byproducts). The base oil is organic castor bean oil which forms a protective barrier against the environment, has a long absorption time and it’s thickness adds a touch of shine.

We are getting their signature color Root & Berry which is a great name because it’s tint is LITERALLY derived from berries, roots and flowers and completely void of mica, iron oxides or mineral pigments. YESSSSS!!! This color is glossy, beautiful and a great color match for any skin type and coloring. Here it is on me:

With hints of peppermint, vanilla and berry, not only does it look stunning – it feels and tastes good too – super refreshing. No heaviness, no stickiness. It’s really nourishing and totally polishes your look. The color, the packaging, the logo, the performance, the ingredients. Sold. Sold. Sold. My only complaint is that I wish they made more colors! They do have it in a plain sheer but that’s it.

H is for Love Bara Balm

I could literally keep gushing over that lip but that wouldn’t be fair to Bara Balm. Oh my gosh. I’ve been loving face balms this winter and then along came Bara Balm and totally shattered my expectations. The smell, the performance, the color, the ingredients…here I go again!

This balm is designed not only to moisturize but provide a protective layer against the elements. It’s thicker in consistency and has stronger drag than most balms I’ve tried. Not that it was hard to rub in but a little did NOT go a long way – it just goes right into my skin. This is totally key because it doesn’t sit on top of skin but actually drives moisture in giving skin a deep treatment. I love every moment during and after application. Totally recommending this for either day or night and by the way it makes a fantastic makeup prep before liquid foundation. Skin is plump and primed!

You can also use this as a spot treatment or next I am going to try and mix it with some of my fave facial oils and serums (and anything else I have on hand – smoothies!?) to play around with consistency and performance. And the ingredients are just to die for. Check them out:

Ingredients: organic jajoba oil, organic macadamia nut oil, organic apricot kernel oil, organic pomegranate seed oil, organic shea butter, organic tamanu oil, beeswax, organic sea buckthorn oil, non-gmo vitamin e, organic marshmallow root, organic chamomile, organic lemon balm and essential oils of Chinese rose, CO2 vanilla, frankincense and lavender

Did I mention it smells amazing!? Well, it does.

One Love Organics Love Springs Eternal – Youth Preservation Serum

Youth Preservation Serum, $75

I was so excited to see One Love Organics in this month’s box too! I have loved everything I’ve tried from this company – especially their vitamin b enzyme cleansing oil + makeup remover. It’s water soluble so it washes off easily with water – a fantastic oil cleanser for newbies who want to try oils but are intimidated. So easy to use and it smells amaze. Anyways, I digress.

Suzanne is the brains behind One Love Organics and she started pursuing this passion by formally studying aromatherapy, integrative herbology, holistic nutrition and cosmetic chemistry all while she was in law school FULL TIME. And now both her and her husband gave up their law tracks to run this company together. They manufacture all of their products in microbatches in a licensed ECOCERT facility that they own (in Georgia by the way, holla!) PS, there are only 10 licensed ECOCERT facilities in the US.

one love organics Okay so lets talk about the serum. So good. It’s recommended to use a couple drops at night but I’ve actually really enjoyed this during the day too. It’s a light serum with a base of green tea oil, watermelon seed oil and blue seakale – to revitalize skin. Suzanne also included two active botanicals: date seed extract and barbary fig stem cells that counter and limit the damaging effects of UVB as well as combat neutralize free radicals.

This serum is clear and has a barley there floral scent. It goes on less than instantly, soaks right in and leaves skin feeling DEE VINE.

Ingredients: organic green tea seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, watermelon seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride and date seed extract, algae extract, bleu seakale leaf extract, barbary fig cell extract, jasmine extract, vitamin e
