Boxwalla is saying hello to December like only Boxwalla can: BIG. The December’s Boxwalla value is $134 and available while supplies last for $49.95. We are seeing three goodies here: Lepaar’s Precious Face Oil ($60), Dafna’s Personal Skincare Eye Care ($66) and a candle tin by Rebel & Murcury in the scent Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove ($8). All of these brands are new to me so I was so excited to dive in! Read on for my December Boxwalla review.
Okay first up I want to mention Boxwalla is a subscription that comes every two months but this time of year they offer up some of their boxes for one time purchase. These are great because if you order right now you can still get these in time for Christmas. Check it out:
One-time Children’s Books: Two books will arrive for children between the ages of 5-8. I have this coming for my two boys and I’m so excited. Both books are written by award winning authors. One from Norway and one from France. The titles remain a surprise. This is also a great “one size fits all” gift for the family that has more than one kid. $29.95 (a $38 value).
Make Your Own Box: Pick three items. Pick one book from the list of books, one item from the list of films and one food item from the list of food . A great way to sample each box and get exactly what you want! This ships to you for $54.95.
A Brief History Of Timeless Things: This box that you see here is also available as a one time purchase for $59!
And so many more. You can also gift a set number of cycles so a “two cycle beauty box” or a “three cycle beauty box” and several other one-time-purchases for food, film and books too. These are fantastic as last minute gifts because her subscription will arrive in December and no one will know you bought it the day before Christmas! More here.
December’s Theme: A Brief History Of Timeless Things
Okay on to this month’s selection. I was about to say, let me start with my favorite but they are all pretty special. So let’s start with the eye treatment because if you are anything like me – I am on a constant quest to find the holy grail of eye treatments and this one brings a lot of promise so let’s dig in.
Dafna’s Personal Skincare Eye Care
I LOVE that this eye treatment is actually a gel serum. I’ve used a ton of eye treatments and most of them are oils which is great except they kind of have a tendency to sit on the surface…and remain there….like never really sinking in. Not this bad boy. Dafna’s Personal Skincare Eye Care applies like a gel and soaks in within minutes. Because it is formulated with water, it draws on the power of osmosis and this treatment is literally sucked right into the skin. Needless to say, it’s super fast absorbing. So I knew were were off to a good start. So what does it actually deliver?
- Sixteen potent actives like chicory root oligosaccharides and soy protein to enhance the production of collagen.
- Rosehip oil to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
- Calendula extract to reduce puffiness around the eye area.
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract to hydrate, calm and sooth.
- Hibiscus extract to maintain elasticity.
Here is the full list of ingredients;
Dafna formulates by marrying Ayurveda & biotechnology. She uses ancient Ayurvedic ingredients like aloe & calendula paired with a “3D sequential delivery system” that promises to deliver immediate lifting + long term hydration. I’ve only used this for a couple of days so I can’t repot on any results but again I’m excited to give this one a try!
Lepaar Precious Face Oil
My precioussssss….Just kidding…my kids are so into LOTR right now and I can’t get it out of my head. Anyways. Precious Face Oil. First impressions are I love the chic packaging. It comes with this super cool gold wax embossment. Other first impression is at 10ml, $60 bucks is a pretty steep. BUT then I took a look at the ingredients and got hammered with wildcrafted oil after organic oil after biodynamic + cold pressed oil and I took it all back. This ingredient line up speaks for itself. Check it out.
Literally formulated with 16 biodynamic, organic and wildcrafted botanicals that are chosen to regenerate, nourish and balance. I’m almost afraid to use it because I don’t want the moment to pass me by. This oil is a beautiful rich golden color with the aroma of frankincense + olive oil. It’s a little more viscous than the typical face oil which provides a nice drag and really allows the oil to penetrate into the skin. The directions say to use 1-2 drops daily which is not enough for me so maybe I will use it in tandem with another oil to stretch it. (The full size bottle is 30 ml and sells for $170!)
Um, did I mention there is 24K gold in this formula? Well there is. #FitForAQueen – In addition to that there is no nut oils or nut butters (great for people with nut allergies). I’m like really excited about this face oil guys! I mean it’s practically perfect.
Rebel & Mercury Candle Tin
I love this unexpected addition to the beauty box! This little candle smells amazing (like really strong and bold which is hard to find in the natural candle realm) and is the perfect compliment to any side table or nook. Did I mention it smells amazing – exactly like it’s named: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove. Christmas in a tin.
This candle is made with a wax blend of soy & palm-free coconut oil that founder Nikki Sherritt makes from scratch. She also uses a lead-free cotton wick. And scents her candles with only plant, tree and flower oils. Nothing synthesized in a lab here.
If you haven’t heard of Boxwalla, let me fill you in. Boxwalla is a luxe beauty subscription that delivers a selection of green beauty products every two months. The products they select are always cruelty-free, nontoxic and their deliveries are curated with “things that MUST be experienced.” They also have subscriptions for food, books and movies too and you can toggle between genres which is SO FUN. One month a couple of movies, the next some decadent specialty foods, the next some must-reads!
