Glowing Beets is in the house! And February is looking so FUN with a Boho Chic 100% organic cotton cosmetic bag, some goodies from Rachel’s Plan Bee, an eye serum by Freerange and a lip by HAN. Let’s take a look!
Rachel’s Plan Bee
This month we get to try two things from Rachel’s Plan Bee. This company was born after founder Rachel gave birth to her son Little Ric, who has special needs. Little Ric inspired her to “reimagine everything it meant to take care of a baby – and my family.” I am so feeling you Rachel! Rachel’s line started out with a lotion bar for her son’s dry skin and exploded into the full line she has today.
In February’s box we are seeing TWO treats from Rachel’s Plan Bee. A full size Body Butter and a travel size Body Oil. I am really excited to use these on my son Quinn who has a mild case of Eczema and really dry skin. The Body Butter is great for nourishing any dry or raw patches (think elbows, knees, heels, kids cheeks). It is an ultra whipped texture and melts upon contact with skin. A little goes a long way so you won’t need much of this beauty!
Here are the ingredients: organic shea butter, organic apricot kernel oil, grapeseed oil, beeswax, non-gmo tocopherol (mixed), vanilla planifolia, organic sweet orange oil, grapefruit peel oil.
The Body Oil is great as a lotion replacement and ideally used right out of the shower when skin is prepped to soak it all in. This oil comes in a glass bottle with a glass dropper and keeps dryness at bay! Both of these items have the same scent profile – very mild with just a kiss of orange and vanilla.
Here are the body oil ingredients: organic apricot kernel oil, organic sunflower seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, grapeseed oil, non-gmo tocopherol (mixed), organic cranberry seed oil, vanilla planifolia, organic sweet orange oil
Love the concentration of organic ingredients here and also the absence of any preservatives. My type of lotions!
Last month we were introduced to Freerange Skincare with their hand lotion made with pastured egg! This month we are seeing more of the Freerange line with their Aloe & Cucumber Eye Serum. As I approach 40, I am like scrambling to find an eye serum like Ponce de León looking for the Fountain of Youth – so this is a welcomed addition.
Excited to see how this eye treatment works for me. It is a clear serum, glides on wet and within a minute is dry to the touch. It smells so fresh – the cucumber/aloe combo (!) gets me every time. So spa-like!
Here is the full ingredient list: deionized water, cucumber, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera juice, free range egg white, witch hazel, glycerin, evening primrose oil and benzylalcohol-dha
By the way, these are mostly organic ingredients and Freerange is on track to getting certified organic which is exciting!
Free Range says pastured eggs have a higher concentration of Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Lutein compared to conventionally raided eggs. And adding egg to their lotions allows the body to absorb more of these nutrients.
I talked to the owner of Free Range last month about the use of Benzlalcohol-DHA because I wanted to know more. She said,
I decided on Benzylalchol-DHA (brand name Geogard) because it is Ecocert Approved, COSMOS approved, NaTrue Certified and Soil Association certified, and is derived from natural components that are sustainably sourced. I use it at the minimum efficacy of .2% and combine it with ROE and Vitamin E. This combination has proved to adhere to my own standards, while protecting my consumers. – Free Range Skincare
I always loving seeing a lip arrive in my Glowing Beets box – I mean who doesn’t love a good lip gloss, lipstick, balm, stain – whatever! Just sock it to me! I think it’s because it is so scary to invest in a lip color only to hate it. It’s happened to all of us way too many times. But when you get one handed to you with no strings attached it like, GIMMIE! Am I right!?
This month we are seeing one of two colors by HAN. Glowing Beets sent me both to try but subscribers will receive either Nude Rose or Raspberry Chardonnay. Here they are on:
I mean it’s pretty much a toss up! Both of these colors are so pretty. They go on thin and hydrating with no stickiness. The wear is really natural and not heavy at all. No matter which color you get, you will love it!
Here are HAN’s Lipgloss ingredients: acai oil, argan oil, coconut crème, tocopherol (vitamin e), shea butter, cupuacu butter, beeswax, extracts of: acai, pomegranate, blueberry, cranberry, green tea, black tea; ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin c), macrocystis pyrifera (sea kelp) extract, grapefruit seed extract, carrot root extract, rose flower powder, titanium dioxide, mica, natural vanilla.
Which one do you like better?
Boho Chic Cosmetics Organic Makeup Bag
And just when you thought that was it, there is MORE! We also get this cute little number by Boho Chic! This bag measures 8″ wide & 4 1/2″ tall and is so cute! It’s the perfect size. Small enough to throw in your bag but big enough to hold a lip gloss tube or a makeup brush. The bag itself is made and lined with organic cotton and also padded with organic cotton to give it a litttle weight. Love the pattern, love the bag, love everything, love to!
