Mapleblume is brand new to the states and it is coming out of the gates strong! This month is their “It Is Woman” box and we are seeing Laurel Whole Plant Organics Antioxidant Facial Serum, H is for Love Lip Glacé in Root & Berry, Pure Anada Natural Mascara, naturallogic Ancient Earth mask and VO Bath + Co’s Citrine Lemon + Tangerine Lotion Body Scrub. To catch you up, Mapleblume is the mother lode of all green beauty boxes. It’s a higher price point and a lot more product than most subscriptions offer. This bi-monthly subscription is based out of Canada and retails for just about $90 USD (depending on exchange rates) + $15 flat rate shipping. You can also skip the subscription and purchase a one-time box for about $103 USD. Mapleblume promises a minimum of 5 full-size, high-end nontoxic skincare and makeup products.
Laurel Whole Plant Organics Antioxidant Facial Serum, $96
The BIG KAHUNA of the June box. If you haven’t heard of Laurel Whole Plant Organics – girrrrrrrrlllll
get with the program you are totally missing out! This is a cult favorite brand among green beauty bloggers and for good reason. Laurel raises the bar for skincare ingredients. Her line is 100% organic, raw and unrefined – sourced from biodynamic farms and handcrafted with purity. Each formula is alcohol and water free and made using pure + effective plants. It’s too legit. Too legit to quit.
Bright orange + potent, this serum goes on so with intention and sinks right in. This formula is built to not only repair skin but protect it from future damage. It has Gotu Kola, Comfrey, Calendula, Nettle and Rosehip to stimulate collagen production + reduce sun damage. And Red Raspberry Seed, Cranberry Seed and Jojoba to protect from the sun.
Dying that I finally have my hands on this gem!
H is for Love Lip Glacé, $17
H is for Love is the the real deal. Their ingredients are thoughtfully sourced and their whole line is almost entirely organic and wildcrafted. They use cold-pressed and unrefined oils, natural preservation methods and their line is made entirely by hand. H prides themselves in sharing nature’s most wonderful gifts and I will be the first to attest to that!
This Lip Glacé is incredible. First, the formula is super clean employing several CO2 extractions (which is one of the cleanest methods out there leaving behind no chemical byproducts). The base oil is organic castor bean oil which forms a protective barrier against the environment, has a long absorption time and it’s thickness adds a touch of shine. Plus it’s tinted with roots and berries. ROOTS AND BERRIES!
It also has hints of peppermint, vanilla and berry – not only does it look stunning – it feels and tastes good too. Super refreshing. No heaviness, no stickiness. It’s really nourishing and totally polishes your look. The color, the packaging, the logo, the performance, the ingredients. Sold. Sold. Sold.
Citrine Lemon & Tangerine Lotion Body Scrub, $23
This is a new take on a traditional scrub. You use it like a regular scrub in the shower to exfoliate and soften skin but when the scrub emulsifies with water it turns into a lotion too. This way when you rinse the scrub off and get out of the shower, skin is looking hydrated. This can potentially save you the step of applying lotion/oil after you get out. It smells amazing too – like sweet lemons.
naturallogic Ancient Earth, $31
I’m always psyched about a new exfoliator – exfoliation is LIFE! This one is pretty good. Smells good, pretty color, offers a barley there micro-grit. It’s more of a cream with sparse granules in it. My skin feels soft after using it.
Pure Anada Natural Mascara, $10.75
Gotta say, I used this mascara and it totally works. The brush is great and the formula is thick. Goes on dense, creates definition and volume. I really like it. I just wish it wasn’t preserved with Phenoxyethanol. An ingredient that you will see used a lot in green beauty but one I personally choose to avoid.
So with a box this size you will always like some items better than others – it’s like Newton’s Law or something. But what I can say is the overall value here is still fantastic even if one (maybe two) items are a miss. And! Starting July 1st you can get 15% off new orders with code MAPLE150. Worth a try girl!
