Several products come across my desk every month and I’m picking my top five to share with you guys. Some of these items I’ve purchased and some were sent to me to try. Either way there is something special about all of these top picks and I am so excited to share with you!
Mama is loving her new stationary! Some kick ass notes for all the new friends I’ve met on this blogging journey. Can’t wait to use these.
And my four year old is at that stage where he wants to practice writing and he can sight read his own name, plus dinos. Huge hit.
Paperculture.com is an online stationary store specializing in personalized cards, announcements, stationary, keepsakes and more. What sets Paper Culture apart is not only the cutest designs ever but their commitment to sustainability. They print exclusively on 100% post-consumer recycled paper and they plant a tree with every order pledging to plant a million trees. They also offer customizable bamboo wall art and nontoxic, recycled cloth wall decals (as opposed to the more common PVC ones). Everything is customizable and they offer some really cute design options.
We got this memory game for Quinn, my 2-year-old. He is still working on his vocabulary and these are great for building confidence, practicing names and repetition. He loves seeing himself with everyone he knows. Like, loves it.
Best part about all of this is not one tree was cut down with this order. Not one. In fact Paper Culture plants a tree for every order AND sends along seeds with your purchase so you can do the same. Did you know a mature leafy tree produces as much oxygen in a season as 10 people inhale in a year? Or just one-ton of 100% post-consumer recycled paper saves 7-thousand gallons of water, 17 mature trees and 3-cubic yards of landfill space? Hello, sold!
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and it is a great way to support local farms especially in the spring when their costs are high and income is low. It means paying an upfront sum in exchange for a weekly share of veggies, meat or eggs (or one of each!) By buying locally from farmers you can change the way food is produced.
I was instantly sold when I found Freedom Farm because although they are not “certified organic” they follow organic and biodynamic principles. They are not a farm that’s checking the boxes to get an organic certification, they are true farmers at heart creating, cultivating and feeding the community with clean, nutrient-dense food. This four season farm considers themselves stewards of the land, keeping it nutrient rich by rotating crops and never spraying chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or any commercial sprays. They take everything into consideration including using all of their own compost and manure as opposed to other organic farms who buy compost that has been generated by animals who have been fed GMOs, heavy metals, antibiotics and pesticides which is allowed in organic farming.
Their chickens roam free on the land and are moved to new pasture twice a day. During the coldest of weeks, they are kept in a greenhouse filled with leaves to scratch through and forage. These birds are fed a GMO-free, SOY-FREE, organic feed as well as veggies from the farm. Some chickens are processed on their farm which are available for sale, fresh or frozen, at their farm stand.
They have pastured pork, goat, lamb, 100% grass-fed beef, herbs, flowers, honey, grain, hay, straw and more. They offer CSA shares of eggs, meat and full or half shares of veggies. If you subscribe to their summer shares you get the added bonus of FREE access to a pick-your-own section of herbs, flowers, strawberries, hot peppers, snap/snow peas, cherry tomatoes, husk cherries, etc. AND there’s more! You can also attend any of their classes for FREE. Here is a sample of last year’s classes: shiitake mushroom growing, organic gardening from seed to plate, chicken processing, pickling, natural dyeing with New England colors, medicinal herbs and fermentation.
This farm values the accessibility of healthy food and not only mades produce donations but offers CSA on a sliding scale.
If you could hug a farm, this one would be it.
Just check out their website and order today – It is so good, I can’t even do it justice.
TNB = skin care game changer! With nontoxic and organic ingredients, TNB is a must for anyone who wants to get serious about their skincare. I have been using this line for over a month now and my skin has never been so balanced. You know that 11:00am oil slick you get on your forehead? Ladies, stop using moisturizer and switch to a face oil STAT. Sounds crazy but adding oil to your face limits oil production creating a more even, non-greasy skin tone. Coming in at 92% organic and the rest naturally derived, this balancing face oil is medium weight and great for day and/or night and designed especially for blemish-prone skin.
The cleanser is so gentle. It takes off the dirt and grime but leaves the skin’s essential oils in tact. Remember the days when it was Noxzema pads or bust? This ain’t it! No wonder my face was so oily growing up, I kept stripping the oils from my face putting my sebaceous glands in overdrive forcing my skin into an unnatural cycle of over producing and stripping its oils. A mild nontoxic cleanser is a must have in my book and it doesn’t get much better than TNB.
The mist is amazing too with no water, no fillers and no toxins. A beautiful earthy aroma with jasmine undertones this mist feeds the skin antioxidants through organic and natural ingredients like green tea, sea kelp and sea fennel leaving skin moist, dewy and plump.
I also recommend this line for men too – with an intoxicating earthy scent, these products are very gender neutral and lets be honest, guys have skin care needs too!
If you are new to green beauty or been in the game for a while this line screams luxury and worth the splurge.
I am a sucker for water bottles and I have tried a ton. This 32oz one has quickly becoming my fave. If you are someone who likes your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot – this is your jam! Hikers, skiers, beer drinkers, coffee lovers, tea connoisseurs, kids, soup drinkers or smoothie sippers…..this vessel is calling your name. Yes, I said beer. This light weight, stainless steel, insulated gem comes in food containers and hydration bottles and also an insulated 16oz true pint or a 64oz wide mouth growler. Just think, you can play in your masters mens soccer game for a few hours on Sunday morning and finish with a cold frosty on the side because this sucker keeps drinks COLD and that my friends is what I like to call filling a need.
They have a 12 oz water bottle with a sports cap or straw cap that I am eyeing for my kids and for me I need those food containers like yesterday. I also love that there is no condensation build up or heat transfer. The caps are made from BPA-free polypropylene PP#5. The sport cap is also made of PP#5 and features a soft silicone spout.
Hydro Flask also give 5% of their net to a charity you designate if you choose to register your purchase.
This company is on a mission to save the world from lukewarm – and they do.
Cuteness overload! I mean, I know I’m biased because they are my kids but really can you deny it?! Oh wait, I meant the t-shirts! How cute are these? Even better you can rest easy knowing no pesticides or chemicals are seeping into your kids skin disrupting their hormones and internal function and all of that because these tees are 100% organic and made in the USA using nontoxic dyes.
This company not only makes an environmentally friendly product, they strive to support the environment by giving back, donating, planting trees and using a carbon neutral shipping option. We need more conscientious companies like this! Sizes run small so order up!
And that’s what I’m diggin’ in February my friends! Stay tuned for March picks – some more stellar companies and organic items that deserve the spotlight to come! Smooches!
