Organic Mother’s Day Gifts – What I Want!

May 1, 2016

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I figure instead of dropping hints to my husband, I’m just going to post about some cool stuff I want and then set it as his homepage. Is that wrong!? Anyways, here are some organic, sustainable, healthy gifts that would be great for any mom!

The Dreamer Camera Strap – 29.00

This camera strap is hand-loomed with organic, hand-dyed thread and then hand-made by women in Guatemala. I need five of these. I can’t believe I don’t have a camera strap yet! This is available at Storyweaver Mercantile which is an awesome online artisan goods shop.

Organic Cotton Light Weight Robe – 58.00

This robe is 100% Fair-trade Certified & GOTS Certified Organic Cotton. This has “My Weekend” written all over it. This is available at Be Home Well, an online store with thoughtfully curated nontoxic items for your home, kitchen and bath.

Meet the LeahLani Skincare line. This is a small woman-owned business in Hawaii. Leah formulates, makes, packages and sends all of her own products. She sources beautiful ingredients including organic and cold pressed oils, potent botanicals, Hawaiian nectars, mineral rich clays and more. A nontoxic crowd pleaser.  I need one of everything.

Organic Cotton Turkish Towel – 38.00

I just got my first Turkish Towel this past year and I LOVE IT! These are fantastic – you can use them as a scarf (my fave), a bath towel, beach towel or a light blanket. So many options, so little time. This one is especially cool because it is 100% organic cotton and treated with vegetable dyes. No matter where you are you will be stylin’ with this little cutie. This one is from Green Body Green Home based in Tampa, Florida but their products are available online too.

Follain Original Blend Candle – 42.00

Follain is a green beauty store located in Boston, D.C. and online. They make this beautiful nontoxic candle that is made with vegetable wax (including non-GMO soy), a cotton wick and essential oils. Enjoying this safe candle would be a real treat but my favorite part is the exterior candle box is plantable wildflower seed paper! So you take the box off and throw it in your yard and next year = little house in the prairie – LOVE this! So thoughtful, so sustainable.

Raised Bed Planter

I am dying for one of these. Our property does not have any plantable soil so something like this is a great solution. Not only do I want to grow my own herbs and veg but I want my kids to be hands on and help with this too. I am hoping to score mine from The Greatful Garden which is a local organic gardening center – it is a great resource for organic plants and the owner is super knowledgable

Cheers to a nontoxic Mother’s Day!

Smooches! .
