Organic Valentines Day Picks!

February 3, 2017

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I’ve rounded up some green beauty goodies that are so good, they will make your heart skip a beat. Me and my hubs never really do much for Valentines Day – maybe dinner and a movie if it happens to land on a Saturday night but I am never one to turn down gifts and these are some good ones! So bust out a paper and pen and make a list…for your bae of course! Or just forward them this post and call it a day!

Maya Chia’s Highlight Of The Day

Dare I say, best highlighter I’ve used? I think I do! This product will make your face glow with an unparalleled inner and outer radiance. It is an oil based serum that you apply with a glass dropper and it just blends into skin like nothing I have ever seen. It is so subtle yet striking – it’s really a gold mine and (I gotta do it) the highlight of my day. It comes in two colors: Golden Hour and Happy Hour. Golden hour has a little bit more of a warmish/golden highlight to it where as Happy Hour sports more of a cooler tone. I’ve tried both and I favor Golden Hour by just a hair but not much. I think with my olive toned skin it is a beautiful compliment but I also love how Happy Hour brightens my face too. Try this on your upper cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, your cupid’s bow and if you are wearing a lower cut shirt or tank you could apply a bit on your shoulders and/or collar bone too.

Wear this alone, under/over makeup or mixed with your favorite foundation. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to mention the scent. A stunning, masculine, botanical complex that will send a buzz down your belly. Something so unexpected in a highlighter/illuminator. I just can’t get enough.

The ingredients are on point too: Supercirtical Chia Seed Oil, Broccoli Seed Oil, Capriylic/Capric Triglyceride, Organic Calendula Flower Extract, Organic Sunflower Oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Mica, Iorn Oxide, Titanium Oxide.

This illuminator is a MUST! I am all over this little gem like EVERY. DANG. DAY. Not to mention your hunny will be like WOAH! Trust me. Get one! $42

Sigil Scent in Bloom

A clean option for fragrance and one of the longest wearing organic scents around. Made from organic corn-based alcohol and organic/wildcrafted essential oils, this line is a must try! I reviewed Sigil Scent last year, you can check it out here. Patrick, the owner was kind enough to send me their newest scent Bloom that debuted last fall. Ground is still my fave from their line but Bloom is a close second. It smells of rose blooms, jasmine, dry wood burring and styrax.

This is their new tester size and I’m loving it. They changed over from a dab and apply to a full pump sprayer with glass bottle. This one sells for $15 or you can test their entire line that includes 6 fragrances each in their respective 5 ml spray bottles for $50.

Nothing like a fresh scent to make you feel beautiful. And their line is expanding so stay tuned for more to come soon! Shop here!

Kosmatology Mint Your Feet Valentine Gift Set

And don’t forget your feet! This Valentine’s Gift Set by Kosmatology sells for $39.99 and it is a spa for your feet. It comes packaged in a wicked cute pink box with a ribbon and includes a full size Mint Your Feet Foot Balm and a full size Mint Your Feet Mineral Salt Food Scrub. If you have never soaked, treated or scrubbed your feet before – what are you waiting for?! And even better you can totally ask your boo to do it for you!

The foot balm is made with: organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, organic olive oil, candelilla wax, sambucus nigra fruit extract, organic peppermint essential oil and organic eucalyptus essential oil.

The mineral salt foot scrub is: organic safflower oil, organic peppermint essential oil, organic eucalyptus oil.

Peppermint is super cooling and has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic properties which relieve muscle pain and tension. Plus it prevents infection and alleviates odor. And while all of that is going on, eucalyptus is also anti-inflammatory which reduces muscle stress and pain.

Heres the game plan. Boo asks what you want for Valentines Day. You say, “Funny you should ask because I was just thinking I would love a foot rub!” Then bust out the goodies. Soak feet for 5-10 minutes, have your love apply scrub rubbing in circular motions. Rinse feet and then followup with a good foot massage with foot balm. HELLO. You heard it here first ya’ll. It’s the gift that keeps on giving! Grab it here!

Nūdus lipstick in Ve Ve at The Choosy Chick

And naturally you need a killer lipstick. Nūdus is based out of Australia and their lipstick formulas are top notch! If you are looking for a clean lipstick that performs, look no further than Nūdus! They are certified organic by ACO (Australian Certified Organic) and their formulas incorporate super foods, antioxidants, vitamins A,B,C,D,D and K, essential fatty acids and anti-aging ingredients. Plus their pigments are made from color extracts from flowers, fruits, herbs and minerals. You can’t get much better than this!

I have three of their shades. Fairy Tales, Viva and Zo Zo. Viva and Zo Zo are two of their newest shades and I am calling Viva the must-have shade for Valentine’s Day. It’s pinky but not too pink, subtle but enhancing and above all, playful. Love these formulas because they go on, stay on and they are weightless without drying out lips. $34

Grab yours here from the Choosy Chick! The Choosy Chick is an online shop dedicated to researching, sampling and selecting the finest non-toxic personal care products for you and your family. Check them out!
