Rose is the new black and if you don’t believe that just check out the latest iphone colors – confirmed. Vana Body is Franziska and Betti, a sister team creating a simple, clean creation of plant-based self-care goodies. The sisters are involved in every aspect of the products life from designing labels, packaging, formulating recipes, batch making and shipping. Small businesses like these are favorable because there is little to no margin for error, miscommunication or misstep. You know that phrase, “If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself”? Well case in point – the sisters have and it shows. Now let me introduce you to Rose Clay Mask and Geranium + Mint Cleansing Oil.
Vana Body graciously sent me these two products to try. Both of these products are as pure as they are effective.
The Rose Clay Mask functions as a traditional clay mask. This one is specifically designed to tighten pores and eliminate toxins and impurities. It is a self-mix mask and I tried it with filtered water, apple cider vinegar and green tea. Green tea and water were by far my faves. It would also be really nice with an organic hydrosols (flower water) – Mountain Rose Herbs sells a beautiful one here.
The mask goes on smooth and even with a light cooling sensation. I felt a slight reaction happening unlike a moisturizing mask like The Honey Mud or Mermaid Mask where you sit back and let the moisture and goodness seep in. This mask is formulated to draw toxins and impurities out so you will feel that start to happen. It has a relaxing floral scent and a beautiful pinky/crimson color. It dries within 10-15 minutes and washes off easily. Skin feels light, clean, cool and soft after. Make sure to tone and moisturize. I loved my skin the next morning. This mask is a great balancer and perfect for digging out grit and evening skin tone. When mixed with green tea it preforms like a caffeine mask tightening and brightening giving really beautiful results.
The ingredients are noteworthy and thoughtfully sourced. You know I love seeing organic!
- white kaolin clay
- rose kaolin clay
- organic rosehips powder
- organic coconut milk powder
- organic essential oils of sweet organic and geranium.
Simple, clean, effective. I’m dying to try their Charcoal Clay Mask and their Coconut Clay Mask – how amazing do those sound!?
The Mint Geranium Oil Cleanser is a joy to use. The minty smell is so fantastic and refreshing at the end of the day. If you have never tried an oil cleanser – don’t be scared! It’s a two step process so it’s not like you finish with a face full of oil. First you cleanse with the oil – 5/6 pumps in your palms and work all over your face massaging every area. This is awesome for stimulating blood circulation and drawing out all the dirt and grime because the oil binds with the oils on your face, pulling off the grit. You can add little water and continue to work into a slight lather if you choose. Then wring out a hot damp cloth and lay over face until it cools down then gently wipe all of the oil off. Follow this with your cleanser – I love TNB’s cleanser because it is non-drying and leaves all the skin’s essential oils in tact. Then tone and moisturize and go on with your beautiful dewy self!
What I love specifically about this cleansing oil is the huge dose of aromatherapy it delivers and the incorporation of castor oil. Castor oil is naturally astringent and helps pull impurities. Mint Geranium Oil Cleanser is not recommended for the eye area because the mint is pretty sensational and can be too strong for the eyes. I loved it on my face and neck and added coconut oil to my eyes to keep this streamlined as a one-step process.
These ingredients are also off the charts and worth noting:
- organic sunflower seed oil
- organic castor oil
- organic, virgin, cold-pressed macadamia nut oil
- organic, virgin, cold-pressed avocado oil
- organic peppermint essential oil
- organic geranium essential oil
- wild crafted lavender essential oil
Can’t get much better than this ladies!
