Welcome to the crossroad where “clean beauty trends” and “what I personally am crushing on HARD” collide. AKA? The New Knew’s Quarterly Faves.
By: Lisa Fennessy
Quarterly faves are updated each season, along with my big “Best of” post at the end of the year. I thought “Quarterly Faves” would be a nice way to highlight some exceptional products throughout the year.
Be sure to come back each quarter for a refresh on what’s hot + TNK exclusives.
Clean Beauty Trends + TNK’s Faves
MATE the Label Organic Waffle Half-Zip Sweatshirt & Organic Waffle Relaxed Jogger | $148 & $128
Say less with this Organic Waffle Half-Zip Sweatshirt and Organic Waffle Relaxed Jogger combo. Not only is this getup easy on the eyes, it’s easy on the planet too as the MTL waffle collection is GOTS certified (made from 100% organic cotton).
As a tall girl I am super impressed with the length of the arms and the body of this sweatshirt. The arms perfectly graze the bottom of my palms while the bottom sits below my hips—I feel like it was made specifically for me. The gathered hem along the bottom of this sweatshirt is a pretty finish that adds visual interest and guess what, did someone say muff pockets?! I did! But more than that, can we talk about this limited edition color Bark? TDF. 🤤
I specifically love the drape of this fabric. It’s weighty without being droopy and just hangs almost structured. It’s also a sturdy enough waffle texture that it won’t get mis-shaped or stretched out with wear. This thick and cozy set is perfect for spring baseball games, summer nights, winters by the fire and straight up quintessential paired with a chai latte in the fall.
If you see me around town, I’ll be wearing this!✌️

MOB Beauty Cream Clay Eyeshadow | $18
Got this as a PR sample and it sat on my desk forever. I’ve never really been a fan of cream eye shadows (they don’t stay put) and this color read drab to me. Then one day I tried it and my world blew wide open lol.
I have this cream clay shadow in shade M115 Taupe and M107 Muted Wheat and I’m telling you rn, M115 Taupe is EVERYTHING. It’s just a shade or two darker than my skin tone and that’s the magic of it. It adds dimension to my eyes but in the most subtle way. Like you don’t even know I’m wearing makeup but eyes look low key sultry.
And I love love love this cream formula. It’s thick enough that color transfers evenly and pigmented, yet thin enough that it doesn’t crease. It literally melts into skin and just looks like SKIN.
Guys. I don’t know what else to say. You have to, HAVE TO try this.
Chronically Chic Tortoise Pillbox | $40
As far as vitamins go, I am SO BAD AT THIS! I have good intentions but I just forget and the next thing you know it’s 4pm and I wash all my failure down with a room temp glass of red zin.
But that changed this year with the addition of one major purchase: The cutest pill box ever! Wow. Pill boxes really work. Who knew?! I haven’t skipped a day since. But if you are a hard no on pill boxes, you can also try apps or engaging the Medications portion of the iPhone health suite (which Nicolle swears by). It’s set up to continue to ping you until you take your meds/vits.
Then the only thing missing after that is vitamins to put in your cute pill box! (Keep reading!).
Perelel Women’s Daily Vitamin Trio | $39.50/month
Yeah I just said “TRIO”. This “multivitamin” is actually 3 pills in a pack. So everyday you open a pack and take your three vitamins for that day. The first thing that struck me about this is it’s so much more comprehensive than taking one multivitamin!
This pack is designed to support your general and reproductive health, your mood and stress levels, and your hair, skin, and nails. Included is:
- A Women’s Daily Multivitamin which is a blend of vitamins and minerals to provide full-spectrum nutrition, immune support and address any nutrition gaps.
- An Omega Capsule with sustainably sourced, wild-caught fish oil with DHA + EPA which are essential support for brain health, stress, and mood.
- A Beauty Blend Capsule with biotin and bovine collagen peptides to support hair, skin, and nails.
I love that this pack basically covers all the bases, the pills are easy to swallow (no horse pills!) and there is no gross aftertaste.
Specifically, I love the addition of all the minerals (copper, magnesium, zinc…) because I was buying all of these and taking them separately during the summer tennis season. It’s so hot in Atlanta in the summer and I sweat so much that I feel like I have to pound minerals to keep my body in check.
I also love that it has 250% of the daily recommendation for vitamin D. I’m not a doc but I’ve heard from several that most people are deficient in vitamin D which is critical to mood and more. I specifically got my vitamin D tested last month and *drum roll please* I WASN’T deficient, which is a shocker and also a testament.
Also, I have the weakest nails on the planet and I don’t take a regular collagen supplement so I was excited to see one included here because now I don’t even have to think about it.
The other cool thing about Perelel is they customize vitamin regimens for each stage of life.

Rituel de Fille 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation | $42
The first few times I tried this foundation I tried applying and blending it with my fingers and it was a hard no for me. But then I took it back out again to test for our Top 5 Clean Beauty Foundations post and tried applying and blending it with a sponge and I was like….SCUSEME?! Why is this foundation is so perfect? And now it’s my daily go-to.
It’s literally called “3 drop” foundation because you really only need 3 drops. (Sometimes I just do two. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone). I honestly don’t know how you can use such little foundation and have it have such good coverage. Also, love that it’s liquid and “looks like skin”. Plus it’s practically weightless and with just 3 drops a day I don’t see how this doesn’t last forever.
It also melts into skin as the day goes on so it just keeps looking better and better. Check out my full review.
Jenny Patinkin Spray Away Instant Makeup Brush Cleaner | $19
Jenny pinged me and asked if I wanted to try her new “instant” makeup brush cleaner—and I was immediately intrigued. INSTANT??? I didn’t even know this was possible!
The instructions say to spray this on a dirty makeup brush and then rub the brush onto a towel to remove makeup which then leaves the brush clean.
Naturally I was skeptical but I’m telling you right now; THIS WORKS. I was blown away by this makeup cleaning brush sorcery and now I’m obsessed with cleaning my brushes.
The only downside is that while it works AMAZINGLY for tightly packed, dense brushes, I tried using this on more fluffy brushes and the magic didn’t translate as much. (Not a hot take as this is clearly stated in the directions as well).
Waterless and rinse-free, this formula sanitizes brushes and dries instantly so you can use it immediately after.
*It is also free from petrochemicals such as ethanol and isoparaffin that are commonly found in makeup brush sprays.
A complete game changer.
Magic Molecule Ultimate Bundle | $44
The first time I heard about the concept of Magic Molecule, I felt like I was talking to the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding who preached that any ailment from psoriasis to poison ivy could be cured with Windex.
However, unlike, spoofing on what MBFGW director calls an “old-world Greek tradition” that involves not using “the proper medicine for a corresponding ailment”—Magic Molecule is a real deal treatment that read deal works.
Magic Molecule helps treat over 50 common skin ailments from sunburns to eczema, cuts, scrapes, zits, itchy rashes and nail fungus with hypochlorous acid. Hypochlorous acid sounds wicked sciency but our bodies naturally produce it via our white blood cells for healing.
Magic Molecule explains, “Hypochlorous targets and removes harmful bacteria in order to protect your microbiome without any negative effects. It’s completely safe and actually helps restore your skin to protect your body. Magic Molecule won’t affect any other product in your current routine. Since it doesn’t leave a residue, you can spray it throughout the day, even over makeup.” They continue…
✔️Safe to use on even the most sensitive skin
✔️Safe for all ages, including infants one-month and up.
✔️100% clean, non-toxic, all-natural, vegan, and cruelty-free. (And we agree!)
Check out my full review including before and after pics when we used it on my son’s eczema. Nicolle also said it’s helped her sensitive skin too!

True Botanicals At-Home Facialist Peel | $65
If you were a devotee to True Botanicals’ (now discontinued) Resurfacing Moisture Mask (like me), you are going to love their new At Home Facialist Peel. It’s v similar but a lot stronger. I can feel this one working—so much so that I didn’t even feel tempted to leave it on longer than the recommended 15 minutes. This is probably because it has a concentrated blend of 27.2% AHA, BHA, PHA and THX which True Botanicals has designed “to exfoliate the skin to visibly reveal a smoother, brighter, clearer and more even-toned complexion.”
But this isn’t a mask that will rip your skin off and pat you on the back. It also has a unique electrolyte mineral complex that helps draw moisture in leaving skin hydrated and glowy while aloe juice, rosemary and ilipe butters help protect from redness and irritation.
I am loving this for those skin moments when I’m like frick (!) I need to exfoliate!

EVOLVh The Standard Hair Oil | $38 $28 (Pre-Order & Save 26%—Ships April 29th)
You know I hate a hair oil, lol. Call me crazy but I’m not a fan of oily-looking hair. HOWEVER, apparently the hair oil world is in the midst of a revolution because now I have a couple hair oils I actually, dare I say, LIKE. My latest crush? EVOLh’s new The Standard Hair Oil. Here’s why:
- It’s super lightweight and adds shine without leaving an oil slick in its wake.
- It really works to reduce frizz and tame flyaways.
It’s also a UV and heat (up to 450°F) protectant too. This is so easy to use and it just makes my hair…BETTER. A literal no brainer.
And The Standard Hair Oil isn’t just a pretty face. It also contains five clinically-proven performance-boosting active ingredients like ceramide NG which repairs hair up to 82%, citropol to reduce frizz up to 58% and castor oil esters to increase shine up to 428%.
Not available yet but you can be the first to try by pre-ordering now!

kinfield Daily Dew SPF 35 | $26
A moisturizer with SPF 30 is not the same as a 30 SPF you would put on before going to the beach. On the spectrum of everyday wear SPF to high SPF, kinfield Daily Dew sits somewhere in the middle—leaning closer to a high SPF formula. I personally feel more comfortable wearing this for outdoor activities than I do for everyday wear. It goes on white and does take a min to rub in.
That being said, if you look at this as a sport SPF, it’s AWESOME. Super light (comparatively speaking) and I feel like I am definitely getting the coverage I want. But what really stands out is it’s breathable so once I start to sweat, it’s not like my face melts off.
And I’m clearly not alone here, it was named ‘The Best Sunscreen’ of 2023 by SELF magazine.

April 10, 2021I would like to know if you’ve ever tried Leahlani body oil and if so did it work?
Thanks in advance.

April 12, 2021Hi Janet! I actually haven’t – but I’ve always wanted to try their Coco Infusion – I imagine it smells like that coconut tanning oil from the 80s #NostalgiaEnsues ; ) Lisa

April 30, 2021I get to purchase really good skin care twice a year based on my budget and I’ve used two bottles of the maya chia super couple last year and beginning of this year, Love it but I was wondering if you could share with me two of the greatest serum and moisturizer as I have ran out and need something. I love your recommendations and realize as a blogger you try quite a lot of products, I appreciate all your recommendations especially the blue schampo I get from you! Thanks in advance.

May 9, 2022Lisa, another deodorant that I think is amazing is Simply Divine Botanicals, Keeping Abreast of It Deodorant Spray. It is formulated with mineral salts and essential oils that stimulate lymphatic drainage. It has a light herbal scent that is pleasant and not overpowering and it keeps the stench away all day!

On another note… have you used fifty7kind products any further? I had read your review on the serum and was very curious about that line, but other than the company’s product page I haven’t been able to find any other independent reviews or information online.
Thanks!
