My summer 2022 capsule wardrobe
Okay, it’s not an official capsule wardrobe, but I DID bring nearly all these pieces with me on a two-week East Coast trip, all of which fit into my favorite carry-on. So that’s essentially a capsule—and to me, that’s a good-enough definition, since I CAN’T STOP WON’T STOP wearing these.
All the summer feels come flooding in with this versatile piece. Summer nights in southern Maine, weekend trips to the Vineyard, cool mornings at my fave coffee shop…what about you?
Now, a jean shirt dress isn’t revolutionary, but love this one because it’s adult-sized (AKA long enough), durable (made to last) and has that worn-in vintage feel we all crave, but very few brands can perfect.
It’s also made in a centuries-old, OEKO-TEX® certified Italian mill, from soft Indigo denim that’s then brought to California to be washed by local artisans—enabling it to get even softer with each wear.
It was hard to choose between White, Classic Blue Tattered Wash and Sand, but in the end Sand won out. ❤️
Sizing: True to size.
Thanks to the pandemic, my bra game changed…and for the better. So long underwire, metal and anything that’s trying to force me to shift in a way my body does not want to shift and HELLO comfort city.
I don’t know why I never leaned into bralettes in the past. Actually, that’s a lie. I do know why. As a C cup, I thought my boobs were too big for a bralette. And for most of them they are. But all things changed when I was introduced to full-coverage bralettes. Pure magic.
Love the amrêve Organic Bralette especially because it’s super soft and with the wide elastic band at the bottom, it offers more support than the typical bralette.
Made with 95% GOTS and USDA certified organic pima cotton, sustainably harvested and responsibly produced plus Global Fair Trade Certified and I’m here for it.
Sizing: True to size.
Styled: Literally under errrrthang.

I’ve had these slip ons for two summers now and I’m just left wondering where they have been my whole life?!
These just have a way of elevating any casual outfit. Plus, the handwoven leather keeps feet cool and comfy with a little more give than just straight up leather. Super easy to slip on and go, these are always by my backdoor.
Made with Leather Working Group Certified leather and handwoven in an ethical factory, paying 100% living wages in León, Mexico.
Sizing: I’m usually a 10.5 and typically have to size up to make things work but I ordered both the 10 and the 11 and the 10 fit perf!

Literally haven’t taken this off since the moment it arrived. It’s all things cute, comfy, versatile, easy, sporty, chic. This material is a prima rib, which has a little give to it. Meaning I tried on the medium and the large and honestly didn’t know which one fit better so I went with the large just to be sure. Also love the racerback as a fun twist.
What really drew me to this dress in the first place was that it was long enough. As a 5’10” human, so many adult-sized pieces are just too short on me. I feel confident and appropriate wearing this.
Made from 96% Organic Peruvian Pima Cotton, 4% Spandex and created in an ethical SMETA compliant factory.
Sizing: LoveTrust as a brand tends to run large so if you are in between sizes, size down. I chose to keep the large here, but I could have easily kept the medium.
Rent the Runway is basically like having access to your very own HUGE revolving designer wardrobe. I’ve been a RTR member for over a year now and I love it for several reasons.
- It’s a quick wardrobe refresh 2 times a month.
- I get to wear items from some of my favorite designers without feeling guilty about over consumption or supporting fast fashion.
- I can rent clothes I would never get more than one or two wears out of for specific occasions like a concert, a wedding or an island vacation.
- I’ve branched out. Like, I actually like wearing rompers or balloon jeans (who knew!).
- You can keep items as long as you want so sometimes I’ll keep a bag or a dress until I get sick of it (like 3 weeks or 6 months) and then get a new one.
- I get excited to get dressed when I have some RTR new new.
Anyway, this summer I’ve been renting allllll the dresses and one-pieces. I love one-piece outfits because they are so easy and I look fully styled without having to think about it.
What are you loving this summer?
