Day 4 of 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways: Berkey Water Filters

December 4, 2020 (updated February 22, 2021)

Welcome to Day 4 of This Organic Girl’s 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways! So excited to announce that one lucky winner will be taking home my favorite drinking water filter by Berkey! This is a $249 value!

If you are looking for a water filter that does it all, look no further than Berkey

When most Americans drink a glass of tap water, they’re also getting a dose of industrial or agricultural contaminants linked to cancer, brain and nervous system damage, developmental defects, fertility problems or hormone disruption (source).

You can actually see EXACTLY what’s in your city water by searching the EWG’s Tap Water Database. Pop in your zip code and it will return a list of contaminants found in your municipal tap. I did this for my Atlanta zip and it populated 15 contaminants—8 of which were listed as carcinogens. This is why it’s super important to have access to clean drinking water.

If you are close to a natural spring that is a fantastic option. I recommend using Find A Spring to scope it out. And if that’s not an option then it’s filters baby!

As a family of four, we have and LOVE the Royal Berkey water filter. Berkey is the queen bee of water filters removing the most junk from our tap out of any other water filter. This is taken from their website:

The Royal Berkey Water Filter removes viruses, pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. It also reduces rust, silt, sediment, foul taste and odors and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. This system is so powerful it can remove red food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other system can duplicate this performance.

Use filtered water to drink, cook, boil pasta, steam veggies, water plants, make coffee + tea! Berkey also has a travel size filter that is great for smaller families, road trips, camping and longer stays away. We have a travel size Berkey for our condo up north and I’ve also gifted the Travel Berkey to my parents and they love the size.

Omg thank you for such amazing giveaways!!! I’ve been procrastinating about purchasing this system as it just seems so overwhelming. But in reality it really does make sense for your health. I have a basic water filter that attaches to the tap but this is sooooooo much better! Thank you for always introducing me to amazing healthy items not just makeup/skincare🤗🤗🤗

TBH I haven’t tried this water filter but i’ve heard very good things about it. How easy is it to find a filter? Are they located in big box stores or do you have to purchase them online?

Hi there! You can purchase them directly from Berkey online. They don’t ship to CA but they do ship to the rest of the US ; ) xo, Lisa
