Hi friends! Today is a very special day because I get to introduce you to the newest writer for This Organic Girl! Up to this point I have been the only one writing and publishing but I am looking forward to growing This Organic Girl and having the capacity to bring you more organic topics in a breath of different spaces. I’ve been trying to recruit Steph to publish here for over a year now and it’s finally all happening! I’m so excited!
Steph and I became fast friends when I first started blogging a little over 2 years ago. She is dedicated to healthy living and when I launched This Organic Girl back in 2016, it was the bridge that connected us and we pretty much haven’t stopped talking since that day. She is my go-to girl when it comes to researching and vetting products. No stone is left unturned and no detail overlooked.
Steph used to have her own food blog a few years ago. She loves writing and sharing her findings but after her son was born, her time was limited and she put writing on the shelf for the past 5 years. Well, I’m so excited to welcome her back. I just know you all will fall in love with her, her son, her family and her story. What can we expect from Steph? Well I’ll let her tell you but for now, keep your eyes peeled for a post about organic gardening including tools and fortifiers as well as the safest form of birth control (and we are not talking abstinence!). It’s all coming your way soon!
Okay I’ll stop so Steph can say hi! Please welcome her by leaving a comment! Say hi or if any part of her story resonates with you, let her know you want to hear more!
Hi! I’m Steph!
Hello, I’m Steph from @stephdufordlifestyle. Thank you, Lisa for welcoming me to This Organic Girl to share my loves, passions, experiences, and truths. I’m so excited and honored to be a part of this amazing community!
I’d like to start by sharing a bit about myself. Wisconsin is my home, I’m born and raised a Midwest girl. My husband, Larry and I have a 5-year-old fun and enthusiastic son named Frank. Recently, after 16 years, I left my profession as a hair stylist to be a full-time SAHM (stay at home mom) and homeschool Frank. There hasn’t been one defining moment that has made me passionate about lifestyle and wellness but a compilation of many.
Knowledge is my power. I love to learn and research…often times to a fault. By personality, I am passionate, strong willed and determined. My biggest tool has always been self navigation. At 1 year, our Frank was diagnosed with multiple anaphylaxis to both food and environmental allergies…36 to be exact. He’s truly the bravest and most inspiring human I know. It has been our mission to focus on healing him from the inside out and there really is no limit to how far we as parents will go for our son’s health and freedom.
Along with many allergies, I have also become well versed in chronic atopic eczema and multiple chemical sensitivity. The saying, “The best detective at work is the mother of an ill child” is 100% accurate! One thing we very much pride ourselves on as a constant is we try and create normalcy. We focus on experiences that can safely be improvised and work around limitations while still building childhood fun/memories.
As for me, I like to keep on the move and lead an active, healthy lifestyle. I love music/concerts, vegetable gardening, being outdoors, cooking, socializing and interior design to name a few. What can you expect from me in sharing? Only the things I love, endorse and use myself. I am a consumer who research’s heavily the safest and most effective options while still protecting my bottom dollar. Though I can be a tough sell, I’m loyal to what I love and rarely stray.
I also love to share experiences that have shaped me and how I’ve navigated though in hopes to reach and help others. My biggest satisfaction is helping others build a happier, healthier lifestyle for themselves and their families. I look forward to getting to know you better!
