It’s like when Taylor Swift released Love Story. She was still pretty country but pop stations started jamming out to this teen’s country beets and the next thing you know Matty In The Morning has requests coming out his ears for more Taylor. (OMG, I totally just got sucked into watching like three Taylor videos…) Anyways, how does something like this happen!? Well, IMO:
- What’s good is good.
- People create a demand for what they want.
- Fake and cheap will never win out real and true.
So why am I talking about Tay? Well her crossover shook the world and I have a feeling green beauty is about to do the same. When mainstream stores like Sephora and Nordstrom are taking notice and starting to stock real and true green beauty brands that means only one thing. Okay actually it means a couple of things….see #1-3 above.
Just a few short years ago Nordstom’s definition of clean beauty was Origins with a side of Kiehls. Well move over Mac, there’s a new girl in town and she goes by the name of I’ll take my face cream without a side of toxins, thanks.
Here’s a list of some brands I would use that are now being sold at Nordys – can you believe how long this list is?! The people have spoken ya’ll! Keep buying clean and this list will grow, I promise!
Clean Brands at Nordstrom
Agent Nateur – No big deal, just the best clean deodorant right here! No°4 deodorant holi(Rose) is where it’s at. Soft enough to apply with ease but solid enough to package in a stick. I am dying to try her holi (C) Face Vitamins – reverse fine lines, smooth, brighten, tighten? I’m in.
Odacité – I’ve tried (and finished!) their Pa + G Face Serum Concentrate – add a few drops to your fave moisturizer and watch the magic happen. I also have their Green Ceremony Cleanser on deck – can’t wait to try.
COOLA Suncare – Love their baby line – Baby SPF 50 Stick or Baby Mineral Moisturizer SPF 50 both of these use only mineral blockers like Zinc Oxide while some of their adult line uses chemical blockers like Avobenzone or Octinoxate which I don’t recommend.
KYPRIS – This brand was all the rage about 3 years ago in the green beauty blogashpere. I never got a chance to try but I’ve heard great things.
Moon Juice – I got to eat at Moon Juice when I was in Santa Monica and their organic juices and snacks are delightful. I also have their cookbook too which is next level cooking calling for some insane ingredients – I can’t even keep up. But fun to see their adaptogen blends sold here at Nordstrom. Have fun adding these to matcha, tea, milk water or smoothies!
Zoe Organics – I love Zoe’s Organic Skin Balm which is not currently stocked but it’s an awesome little cure-all. Good for bug bites, scratches, lips, chapped cheeks and dry patches.
There are several other brands stocked at Norstrom that tout “organic” but don’t be fooled. Just because a brand lists “organic” or “natural” on the front of a label doesn’t mean they are. Always read your labels. (Or just use this list).
Any brands I missed?!
