📷 A menstrual cup is a flexible cup that's designed for use inside the vagina during your period to collect blood. Made out of rubber and silicone, its purpose is to collect period blood, unlike tampons and pads that absorb the blood.
While it appears that the menstrual cup is making its debut in the here and now, it may have been originally invented as early as 1867. Then, in 1937, an American actress named Leona Chalmers invented what is now the modern-day menstrual cup.
The small, flexible cup is made of silicone or latex rubber.
