What’s New At True Botanicals

True Botanicals skincare

Sharing is caring!

Hi friends! As I rave on about True Botanicals, I am leaving links in my tracks that no longer work or leading people to products that do not exist anymore. SORRY! The truth is True Botanicals is a fairly new company (just three years old) and they are still working toward streamlining what works and what doesn’t. So I reached out to True Botanicals for the latest! What they are keeping, discontinuing, rolling out and what we have to look forward to in 2018. Read on for the full scoop!

True Botanicals body care

First of all, let me assure all of you as I was assured by the True Botanicals Team, the True Botanicals Nourishing Shampoo + Conditioner is not going anywhere! #praisebe This is the only shampoo and conditioner I use and it leaves my hair perfectly balanced AKA clean and my scalp is not itchy with dryness. So that’s here to stay. And now we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Mic drop, I’m out. Just kidding. If you haven’t’ tried their shampoo yet – DO IT! You can read more about why I love it here.

Also here to stay is all of their skin care lines including BASICS. I love the addition of BASICS (new as of 2017) because it’s True Botanicals quality (thoughtfully sourced, clean ingredients and brilliantly formulated) but at a lower price point.  It’s simple, effective and luxe skincare for less. True Botanicals introduced this line as a great fit for teens, 20-somethings and as a safer option throughout pregnancy but I honestly think it’s a great option for anyone who just wants to maintain with no muss or fuss. My skin went crazy over the holidays and I am back on BASICS for the month of January to help me mellow out. *Less is more* is exactly what I need right now. You can get the entire BASICS line for just around $200 which includes their Hydrating Cleanser, Hydrating Mist, Hydrating Oil and Hydrating Serum.

True Botanicals treatmentsThey are also keeping:

The following products have already been discontinued and are no longer available: Soothing Eye and Lip Balm (in both compact and jar), Nourishing Lotion in FRESH, Body Balm, Body Oil and travel size shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. (I’m so bummed about the travel sizes!)

We may also be seeing the last of True Botanicals Nourishing Lotion too. They are still selling it in the scent GROVE but are currently in the process of playing with price point and formula so if this is one of your faves, stock up because it won’t be around forever!

What Gives?

I wanted to know why we were seeing new products being added and old ones were disappearing so I connected with True Botanicals for the scoop – naturally. This is what they had to say:

As a team and a company, we are dedicated to creating the most effective and safe beauty products ever, which means we are constantly researching new ingredients and formulas with the help of our partners at leading universities, including Carnegie Mellon and Cornell. Doing so sometimes requires us to decide between producing something new and innovating at the cost of discontinuing a similar but less effective, or a less popular, product.

We take discontinuing a product really seriously and try to do it as little as possible, since we know the annoyance of losing a beloved beauty product. Typically, when we choose to discontinue a product, we have an idea in mind about how to make it better and often are already working to bring it back in better form, as you have seen with our product launches in the past and will continue to see this year. (We heard you when you said you miss the body oil and want a vegan lip balm.) Our commitment is to keep our collection as steady as possible while always innovating. It’s a balancing act and one we don’t take lightly.

Also True Botanicals is growing in awareness and consumer consciousness just like all of us. This past year founder Hillary started to do research into the effect that extracting beeswax has on the bees. After that she decided it was time to look for an alternative to the beeswax used in the lip balm that wouldn’t place such a toll on THE species that basically supports our ecosystem. They are telling me that they have found an amazing alternative vegan ingredient that is outperforming expectations. I can’t wait to try! Stay tuned.

What’s new for 2018

When True Botanicals drops a new product I can literally hear angels sing. Seriously. Ahhhhh….(can you hear it!?) You probably can’t hear it yet because nothing new has dropped yet but for 2018 I have it on good word that we will be seeing TWO new products in the first half of the year. And they promised to send me some lab samples to test ASAP so stay tuned for that as well.  And there’s one more new thing….did you know that True Botanicals has a Coaching Program?

Coaching Program

True Botanicals has what they are calling a Coaching Program but essentially you can call or email the True Team and they will work with you to determine the best skincare regimen for you. It’s a personal consult and it’s tailored and designed specifically to each individual’s lifestyle, skin and routine. It’s totally free and you can use it as often or as little as you like. Check it out here!

So the True Botanicals subscription isn’t new but I wanted to mention it because a lot of people don’t realize that you can subscribe AND SAVE through the True Botanicals website. The beauty of this program is that you pick the product AND you decide how long in between deliveries (6, 8, 10, 12 weeks). Plus you can always adjust timing as you go AND you can cancel anytime. Really it’s a no brainer. I totally recommend doing this with their Nourishing Shampoo. Check out how to subscribe here.

Stay Tuned!

Okay that’s it for the updates for now! Stay tuned for more to come. I can’t wait to bring you guys the latest!
