Welcome to Day 2 of This Organic Girl’s 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways! One winner will be taking home a My Green Mattress Kiwi Twin! This is a $689 value!
I’ve been chomping at the bit to publish this giveaway because today we have teamed up with My Green Mattress to give away a twin Kiwi Mattress!
For more information on the 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways, read my intro blog!
I love this company so much, I can’t stop buying their goods. We currently have a queen Natural Escape for our guest room, a Pure Echo twin + a Kiwi twin for Quinn’s bunks, a Kiwi full for Cole’s room, 3 latex toppers, a queen mattress protector and I just want more—lol.
What sets My Green Mattress apart is that they are where clean meets comfy meets affordable. Investing in a mattress is just that, an investment. When we started switching out our mattresses, we did it one at a time and we financed them to make it a little easier, but let’s call a spade a spade: The hardest part about going clean with mattresses is the price.
I’ve tried 4 cleaner mattresses and I would choose MGM again and again and again. Here’s why:
My Green Mattress sells its twin Kiwi for $689. This is the lowest price I’ve seen for not only a GOLS + GOTS certified organic mattress but a factory certified GOLS + GOTS certified organic mattress. This is huge considering there are only a handful of GOLS/GOTS certified mattress factories currently in the USA.
Some brands will use certified organic materials and call their mattresses organic (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) but when a mattress is made in a factory that’s certified GOLS + GOTS then every part of the process is certified, every material is traceable and everything is trackable and transparent. I detail out all the specific differences here.
At this point maybe you are wondering, Why is My Green Mattresses so much lower in cost than all the rest?
I actually had the pleasure of touring the MGM factory in Chicago this past year and I had the same question. MGM owner, Tim Masters explains, “We’ve built this company from the ground up since 2007 via direct sales (cutting out any middlemen costs).”
MGM was launched in 2007 in an effort to create a mattress that would not contribute to his daughter’s eczema flare-ups but Tim Masters has been building mattresses (like with his hands!) for over 30 years via his original company, which he still owns right outside of Chicago; Quality Sleep Shop.
I mention this for a couple of reasons. Mostly because the MGM 20-year warranty can actually stand on its own two legs, whereas when a newer company offers a 20 or 25 year warranty, who knows what that actually means. It could be good for a year or less considering the fact that 80% of new businesses fail within the first 5 years.
And second, Tim has taken apart almost every organic mattress on the market to see how they’re built—keeping MGM at the forefront.
MGM sells several different mattresses which I detail out here. They even had an EMF-free mattress, which is made with latex only (no coil system). Their mattresses are on the firm side FYI, and I’ve found my jam is the Natural Escape mattress topped with a latex topper.
Speaking of their latex toppers, grab one and consider yourself upgraded. I’ve gifted SEVERAL (as in two) to friends and family. These have taken my sleep from a 7 to a 10. SO COMFY.
